Target Audience
Typically R&B is is targeted at 15 to 25 year old females. This is due to the explicit nature of the lyrics and narratives of the videos. Females are targeted by the fact that songs within the genre are stereotypically written about love and/or heartbreak and this appeals to the demographic as they can relate to this the most. Male artist gain the attention of the female audience by their lyrics and/or nudity. The male audience are attracted to the, cars and fashion of the male artist and the objectification of women which takes place in the videos.
As the genre of the song we are using is also R&B we will be targeting our video at the same audience. Women from 15 to 25. We will achieve this by reflecting the lyrics of the song as they are about love. We have enhanced this aspect by writing our narrative around the love aspect and we had our lead actor as a female so the viewer can relate. Due to the factor character will be a gold-digger props such as a black crdit card and extravagant jewellery will entice the male audience too.
